Appearing before a festive crowd at the County Office Building, Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks officially kicked off the 2006 holiday season. Joined by the Wheatland-Chili High School Concert Band, elected officials and other well-wishers, County Executive Brooks lit the County’s Christmas tree to loud applause, and presided over the first performance in the 2006 Monroe County Holiday Concert Series.

Holiday music in the County Office Building has become an annual tradition, with Monroe County continuing to sponsor free lunchtime performances in the building’s atrium, located at 39 W. Main Street in Rochester.  Musical groups from across the County will once again be performing in concert throughout the month of December.

“Our Holiday Concert Series is a wonderful community tradition that we are pleased to continue,” County Executive Brooks stated.

The first performance featured the Wheatland-Chili High School Concert Band. This group is comprised of 44 talented students, and is directed by Steven Zimmerman.   Upcoming performances will include:

  • Wednesday, December 13th – North Star Christian Academy
