Annual Holiday Show Opens at Highland Park's Lamberton Conservatory

Annual Holiday Show Opens at Highland Park's Lamberton Conservatory
County Executive Maggie Brooks announced the opening of the 2007 Holiday Show at Monroe County’s Lamberton Conservatory. This seasonal horticultural exhibit is a popular annual tradition at Highland Park.

“The Lamberton Conservatory has been transformed into a festive botanical wonderland of eye-catching colors and aromatic scents,” said Brooks. “This year’s Holiday Show also encompasses the entire Conservatory, for the very first time. As an additional bonus, we will keep the show open for extended hours on Friday and Sunday evenings, so visitors can fully appreciate this bright and lush spectacular.   I encourage everyone, regardless of age, to take the time to include this outstanding seasonal exhibit as part of their family’s holiday itinerary.”

The 2007 Holiday Show will be on display at the Lamberton Conservatory from December 7, 2006 through January 13, 2007. The Conservatory is located in Monroe County’s Highland Park at 180 Reservoir Avenue and is open daily from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. (closed Christmas Day). For the first time, the Conservatory will be open for extended hours on Fridays and Sundays until 9:00 p.m., throughout the run of the show. Admission is $2.00 per person for Adults, $1.00 per person for Youth (ages 6 through 18) and Seniors (ages 62 and up), and FREE for supervised Children (through age 5).

Back again by popular demand, the focal point of the Holiday Show is an eight-foot high Poinsettia pyramid, which has become an annual favorite among visitors. Also anchoring the exhibit are flocked and decorated fresh evergreen Christmas Trees. Natural evergreen wreaths are also exhibited within the Conservatory.

Traditional holiday plants provide dazzling waves of brilliant colors throughout the exhibit. Approximately 900 Poinsettias, double the amount from last year’s show, are on display.
