Brooks Announces 2012 Season of Free Movies in the County Parks

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks announced that the County’s “Movies in the Parks” series will return for the 2012 summer season. The County Parks Department is partnering with Highland Hospital and Frontier Communications to bring residents a total of 10 quality motion pictures at Ontario Beach Park and the Highland Park Bowl.
“The ‘Movies in the Parks’ series gives residents the opportunity to experience big-screen motion pictures under the stars in two of our finest County Parks,” said Brooks. “Our 2012 season kicks-off with the classic summertime thriller ‘Jaws,’ and also includes ‘The Artist,’ the recent winner of five Academy Awards, including Best Motion Picture of the Year. Thanks to the supportive partnership of Highland Hospital and Frontier Communications, all movies will be shown free of charge again this year.”
Movies at the Beach is a FREE outdoor event at Monroe County’s Ontario Beach Park every Tuesday evening from July 10 to August 7, 2012. Pre-show fun starts at 8:30 pm, with movies starting at dark. The schedule of movies is as follows:
July 10 – Jaws (PG)
July 17 – Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (PG-13)
July 24 – Super 8 (PG-13)
July 31 – Captain America: The First Avenger (PG-13)
August 7 – Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows (PG-13)
Movies in the Bowl is a FREE outdoor event at the Highland Park Bowl every Thursday evening from July 12 to August 9, 2012. Pre-show fun starts at 8:30 pm, with movies starting at dark. The schedule of movies is as follows:
July 12 – Hugo (PG)
July 19 – The Artist (PG-13)
July 26 – Puss In Boots (PG)
August 2 – “Annual Retro Night” -- Smokey & The Bandit (PG)
August 9 – Kung Fu Panda 2 (PG)
