Nationwide Job Search Announced For Chief Economic Development Officer

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that she will be conducting a nationwide search for a Chief Economic Development Officer for Monroe County.

“The Chief Economic Development Officer will play a vital role in my administration and I am confident through this nationwide search the right candidate to fill this position will emerge,” said Dinolfo. “Working closely with local business leaders, my Chief Economic Development Officer will help convene my Job Creation Leadership Forum. By partnering with the business community, the Director will join in my effort to connect skilled workers with employment opportunities and encourage the creation of good paying jobs for the hard working people here in Monroe County.”

Heading the Department of Planning and Development, the Chief Economic Development Officer leads the department in a broad range of programs focusing on job retention and creation, employment and training services, land use planning and resource conservation as well as housing and neighborhood preservation. Duties of the Chief Economic Development Officer also involve planning and coordinating the development and re-development of the County, planning for the County's economic growth, and promoting community-wide economic development activities.

The Chief Economic Development Officer also serves as the Executive Director of the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency (COMIDA), the Monroe County Industrial Development Corporation (MCIDC), and the Greater Rochester Outdoor Sports Facility Corporation (GROSFC).
