Dinolfo Names Napier Assistant County Executive & Walsh Communications Director

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced the advancement of William Napier to Assistant County Executive having served as the county's Director of Communications for the previous nine months.

“I'm delighted that Bill Napier has accepted new and expanded responsibilities and is helping manage day-to-day operations as Assistant County Executive,” said Dinolfo.  “Bill’s combined experience at the county and federal level is invaluable so, in addition to becoming Assistant County Executive, I’m pleased he will continue to serve residents as a legislative and policy advisor.”

Napier previously served in the area offices of several members of Congress.  At the county, he has held the position of Chief of Staff for the Majority Caucus of the Monroe County Legislature and Assistant County Executive under a prior administration.

County Executive Dinolfo today also announced the appointment of Brett Walsh to serve as Director of Communications for Monroe County.

“I am excited for Brett Walsh to join the excellent team of leaders we have assembled to serve Monroe County residents," said Dinolfo. “For the past seven years, Brett has served the residents of Monroe County by providing high quality, customer-focused service in both the Legislature and the Communications Department and I look forward to working with him.”

Walsh’s focus will be on improving the flow of information between Monroe County and members of the media and facilitating constituent requests. Concurrently, Walsh will act as the County's Records Access Officer. In that role, he will play the critical role of facilitating public access to county records by overseeing the Freedom of Information process.

Walsh has served previously as Chief of Staff for the Majority Caucus of the Monroe County Legislature and as a Senior Community Relations Coordinator in the Monroe County Department of Communications. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Roberts Wesleyan College.
