Dinolfo Reminds Drivers Of Extended Lake Effect Snow Warning

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo is urging residents, especially on east side of Monroe County where snow is likely to be heaviest, to be aware of continued hazards through Monday night.

The National Weather Service has extended the lake effect snow warning for our area due to the forecast of new snow combined with high winds,” said Dinolfo. “With the increased likelihood of several inches of new snow combined with high winds, it continues to be paramount that motorists drive for the conditions.”

Winds with speeds of 20-30 MPH with gusts up to of 50 MPH have already led to reduced visibility and drifting snow. The lake effect snow warning continues through 4 a.m. Tuesday morning.

THIS ANNOUNCEMENT DOES NOT RESTRICT TRAVEL IN MONROE COUNTY but is intended to remind motorists of the challenges associated with driving on affected streets.
