Monroe County Planning Board To Host Public Information Meeting On Proposed 2018-2023 Capital Improvement Program

The Monroe County Planning Board will sponsor a public information meeting on the proposed 2018-2023 Capital Improvement Program on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at 7:00 PM in Auditorium A at Monroe Community Hospital, 435 E. Henrietta Road.  The meeting will include a brief presentation of the program as well as an opportunity for the public to ask questions about, and comment on, projects contained in the proposed program.

The Capital Improvement Program is a six-year plan for improvements to County highways, parks, public safety facilities and buildings, as well as improvements to the Pure Waters sewer system, ROC Airport, Seneca Park Zoo, Monroe Community College, Monroe County Library System and Monroe Community Hospital.  The 2018-2023 proposed Capital Improvement Program totals $381 million and is funded from county, state, federal and special district sources.

The Monroe County Planning Board will consider all comments received at the meeting, as well as any written comments received by March 15, and will recommend a final program to the County Executive by April 9, 2017.  The County Executive in turn will submit her recommended program to the County Legislature in May of 2017, for their consideration and action.  The Capital Improvement Program is an annual effort coordinated by the Monroe County Department of Planning and Development.
