Dinolfo Kicks-Off Monroe County's 2017 United Way Campaign
County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo, joined by United Way President and Chief Executive Officer Fran Weisberg, today kicked-off the 2017 United Way of Greater Rochester Campaign for Monroe County employees.
“County employees are exemplary public servants who work hard for the residents of our community each and every day,” said Dinolfo. “I’m proud that so many employees go above and beyond and answer the call to contribute to the United Way, making our dollars stay local and helping those in need right here in Monroe County.”
Monroe County has set a goal of $300,000 for 2017. Each year, the United Way of Greater Rochester invests $2.1 million to help local babies, $4 million each year to help local youth, and $2.4 million to help local elders and caregivers.
“Our support of the United Way is important to the well-being of our community,” continued Dinolfo. “I have the utmost faith in our employees’ generosity and I firmly believe that Monroe County and the United Way of Greater Rochester will meet this year’s worthy campaign goal.”
Each year, Monroe County actively campaigns to raise money for the United Way of Greater Rochester and its member charities. Nearly half of the county workforce participated in the United Way Campaign in 2016.
