Rochester Wings 2008
Date: Friday, June 13th and Saturday, June 14th
Event Details: The event is open to the public and admission is free.
The WINGS event promotes general aviation safety, provides free flight training for attendees, and offers static aircraft displays for public viewing.
On Saturday, June 14th the Experimental Aircraft Association’s (EAA) offers Free flights for children from 9 -12 noon as part of the Young Eagles program.

Lifetime Assistance Airport 5K Walk/Run
Date: Saturday, June 21st
Event Details: The 9th Annual Airport 5K Walk/Run is a great family event that offers a variety of activities for the whole family.  The 5K Walk/Run is held on the most unique course ever - an actual runway at the Greater Rochester International Airport.  Contributions from the Airport 5K benefit Lifetime Assistance Inc. in support of programs and services for for citizens with developmental disabilities.  Participants can view an aircraft static display, listen to live music, interact with local radio/tv talent and so much more.  The event also includes a Fun Run for children under the age of 12 years old.

2008 ESL International Air Show
Date: Saturday, July 26th & Sunday July 27th
Event Details: The United States Air Force Thunderbirds will take to the skies as the feature act at the Greater Rochester International Airport.  The Golden Knights, the United States Army parachute team will also perform.  This two day event will feature aircraft static display, other exciting air acts and so much more.  For specific event information and to purchase tickets to this year's exciting air show visit www.eslairshow.com

Holiday Travel Tips

-Arrive at least 2 hours prior to your scheduled departure time.

- Have a parking plan.  Try our new Valet Parking or Airport Economy Shuttle Parking & leave the running to us!

- Be sure to contact your air carrier before travel to verify luggage restrictions such as total number of bags allowed, size and weight of each bag.

- Be aware of items in your carry on baggage that may slow your process in passing through the security checkpoint. 

- Familiarize yourself with the new security directive regarding liquids & gels in your carry on luggage.  Each passenger is allowed a single, clear, one-quart, zip lock baggie for liquids & gels in quantities of three-ounces or less.  Save time, by packing your zip lock baggies at home. Visit www.tsa.gov for the latest information on this new security directive.

THE FOLLOWING RESTRICTIONS APPLY TO LIQUIDS, GELS, AND/OR AEROSOLS WHEN ENTERING THE STERILE AREA THROUGH THE PASSENGER SCREENING CHECKPOINT

 

*No liquids, gels, and/or aerosols are permitted EXCEPT one clear transparent resealable 1 quart (1 liter) size plastic bag which may contain liquids, gels, and/or aerosols in travel size containers of 3.4 oz (100 ml) capacity or less per container.  The plastic bag containing the liquids, gels, and/or aerosols must be completely closed/sealed and subjected to x-ray inspection spearate from accessible property.

 

*You may have the items listed below, but you must declare them to TSA at the screening checkpoint if they are not contained in a clear transparent resealable 1 quart (1 liter) size plastic bag and/or are over 3.4 oz (100 ml).

 

**Baby formula/milk (to include breast milk) baby food and juice in containers if a baby or small child is traveling

**Medications (liquid, gels, and/or aerosol)

**Liquids (to include juice) or gels for diabetic or other medical needs
