The Greater Rochester International Airport is offering many exciting events this summer.  They are listed in detail below.  Get the family and come on out & participate!

                                                                

Event Details: The event is open to the public and admission is free. 
The WINGS event promotes general aviation safety, provides free flight training for attendees, and offers static aircraft displays for public viewing.
Discovery Flights are available to young adults with an interest in Aviation as a hobby or career.  Discovery flights include certified pilot training, ground training, aircraft inspection lesson and an actual opportunity to pilot!

Event Details: The 13th  Annual Airport 5K Walk/Run is a great family event that offers a variety of activities for the whole family.  The 5K Walk/Run is held on the most unique course ever - an actual runway at the Greater Rochester International Airport.  This year's event includes a guest appearance by Frank Shorter, the iconic American long distance runner who, among his myriad of world accomplishments, counts a Gold Medal in the marathon at the 1972 Games in Munich.  Frank Shorter is the only American to win Olympic marathon Gold.

Contributions from the Airport 5K benefit Lifetime Assistance Inc. in support of programs and services for for citizens with developmental disabilities.  Participants can view aircraft static display, interact with local radio/tv talent from Entercom, visit the Seneca Park Zoomobile and so much more.  The event also includes a Fun Run for children under the age of 12 years old.
