Director’s Welcome
Welcome and thank you for flying ROC!
As Director of Aviation I have the opportunity and privilege to share with you my passion for flying.
Part of my journey to becoming the ROC Director of Aviation began as a young boy, watching my father take flying lessons here some time ago.
I returned home to Monroe County after serving 26 years as a career Naval Aviator in the United States Navy retiring after spending four years as Executive Officer (Deputy Commander) at the Naval Air Station in Key West, Florida. There, I was commonly referred to as “City Manager” because the base operated like a small city.
Although I have lived and served all over the world, I have chosen to return here and serve the community I call home. I am proud to be the Director of Aviation for Monroe County.
It is my duty to provide a safe and secure environment for our travelers and employees, as well as ensure ROC promotes economic development in our region.
To this day (as in my childhood), I look to the skies when I hear airplanes overhead – my goal is for your ROC experience to soar.
Sincerely,
Director of Aviation
