2005 Airfield Construction

Taxiway A- Contract 1 (Taxiway N)

This project will construct a new taxiway parallel to Runway 4-22 commencing at Taxiway C and continuing south to include the intersection with Runway 10-28. This will create a new taxiway intersection with Taxiway D and Taxiway B. The excavated material from the project will be placed in the Runway 28 Safety Area. Aircraft taxiing routes will be affected and Runway 10-28 closures will be required. This Taxiway will be called Taxiway N until the complete parallel taxiway is completed.

Project Period: May 2005 to November 2005

Perimeter Fence and Airside Roadway

This project will continue the installation of service roadways on the airfield. This project will include fence placement, roadways on the airside, and other related work to improve security in the Runway 4 Approach Corridor. Initial site improvement work was performed in this area as part of the 2004 construction program.

Project Period: July 2005 to November 30, 2005

Runway 10/28 Safety Area Improvements

The Runway 28 (East End) of the runway will be impacted by grading the area and initiation of the tunnel program for the airside and landside roadways. The project will also include rerouting of the high-pressure oil lines to conform to the alignment of the vehicle tunnels.

FedEx Ramp Improvements

This project is proposed by FedEx to improve their leasehold. Impact on their operations, and usage of Taxiway F during work adjacent to the taxiway to be refined.

Project Period: June 2005 to October 2005

New York Army National Guard (NYANG) Building Project

This project was initiated in 2004 for the NYANG to improve their leasehold. This project expands their existing facility and adjusts vehicle parking.
