Brooks Announces 2011 Season of Free Movies in the County Parks
Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks announced that the County’s “Movies in the Parks” series will return for the 2011 summer season. The County Parks Department is partnering with Highland Hospital to bring residents a total of 12 quality motion pictures at Ontario Beach Park and the Highland Bowl.

“The ‘Movies in the Parks’ series gives residents an opportunity to experience big-screen motion pictures under the stars in two of our finest County Parks,” said Brooks. “Our 2011 season kicks-off with ‘Jaws,’ the classic summer blockbuster, and concludes with ‘The King’s Speech,’ the recent winner of four Academy Awards, including Best Motion Picture of the Year. Thanks to the supportive partnership of Highland Hospital, all movies will be shown free of charge, again this year.”

Movies at the Beach is a FREE outdoor event at Monroe County’s Ontario Beach Park every Tuesday evening, starting at dusk, from July 12 to August 16, 2011. The schedule of movies is as follows:
July     12     –         Jaws (PG)
July     19     –         Despicable Me (PG)
July     26     –         Iron Man 2 (PG-13)
August   2     –         Inception (PG-13)
August   9     –         The Green Hornet (PG-13)
August 16     –         Battle: Los Angeles (PG-13)
 
Movies in the Bowl is a FREE outdoor event at the Highland Park Bowl every Thursday night, starting at dusk, from July 14 to August 18, 2011. The schedule of movies is as follows:
July     14     –         Yogi Bear (PG)
July     21     –         Olmsted & America’s Urban Parks (Documentary)
July     28     –         Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (PG-13) * 25th Anniversary
August   4     –         Justin Bieber: Never Say Never (G)
August 11     –         Shrek Forever After (PG)
August 18     –         The King’s Speech (R)  *contains strong language
