The Monroe County Clerk’s Mobile Service visits three locations a day, five days a week—one on the County’s east side, one on the west—and now one in the City of Rochester.

We process routine DMV transactions.

Mobile Service Transactions

Driver licenses, permits and non-driver ID cards

  • Renewals for operator and motorcycle licenses, permits, and non-driver ID cards;
  • CDL renewals (except with HazMat or towing endorsements);
  • Written tests for operator and motorcycle permits (until 2:00 p.m.);
  • Duplicates for all types of licenses, permits, and non-driver ID cards;
  • Amendments to all types of licenses, permits, and non-driver ID cards;
  • Conversions of out-of-state driver licenses to New York.

Registrations

  • Renewals;
  • New plates for passenger and commercial vehicles, trailers and motorcycles;
  • Duplicate plates for passenger and commercial vehicles, trailers and motorcycles;
  • Amendments to registrations for all vehicle types;
  • Plate transfers (from one vehicle to another) for all vehicle types;
  • Plate surrenders.

Hours of Operation

  • Mobile Service locations are open from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. (permit testing until 2:30 p.m.).

Metro Mobile Locations

  • Mondays: City Place (Atrium), 50 W. Main St. (Downtown)
  • Tuesdays: City Place (Atrium), 50 W. Main St. (Downtown)
  • Wednesdays: Monroe County Parks Dept., 171 Reservoir Drive (Highland Park)
  • Thursdays: Laidlaw, 455 Adirondack St., Unit B
  • Fridays: City Place (Atrium), 50 W. Main St. (Downtown)

East Side Mobile Locations

  • Mondays: Webster Town Library, 980 Ridge Road
  • Tuesdays: Penfield Town Hall, 3100 Atlantic Avenue
  • Wednesdays: East Rochester Village Office, 120 W. Commercial Street
  • Thursdays: Pittsford Town Hall, 11 S. Main Street
  • Fridays: Perinton Town Hall, 1350 Turk Hill Road

West Side Mobile Locations

  • Mondays: Parma Town Hall, 1300 Hilton-Parma Road
  • Tuesdays: Chili Town Hall, 3333 Chili Avenue
  • Wednesdays: Ogden Town Hall, 269 Ogden Center Road
  • Thursdays: Clarkson Town Court, 3655 Lake Road

Forms of Payment

For DMV fees, the County Clerk’s Mobile Service accepts cash, checks made payable to “Monroe County Clerk,” and Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover cards.

Pittsford Town Hall and Greece Town Hall To Host Passport Services Every Wednesday! Every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. County Clerk’s Office staff will provide the entire range of passport services at the two locations, including photos and expedited applications, without need for an appointment.
Renew Monroe Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo launched "Renew Monroe", encouraging residents to renew their vehicle registrations at local DMV offices. Over $500,000 annually could be kept working here if every vehicle owner in Monroe County participated in the new program. Residents can mail their renewals to the Henrietta DMV Office, use a convenient drop box, or for immediate return of their registration, use an Express Line at any permanent DMV branch.
County Clerks Call on State DMV to Return Renewal Processing Members of the Finger Lakes Region of the New York State Association of County Clerks (NYSACC) held a joint press conference today to object to the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles' desire to contract with an outside entity for the processing of motor vehicle registration renewals.
New DMV Office Opens at Greece Ridge Mall
Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo today announced that the Greece Department of Motor Vehicles Auto License Bureau will be moving to the Mall at Greece Ridge Center. The new facility will be easier for customers to access and will provide a vital boost to one of our community's important retail centers. The new Greece DMV will be located in the eastern portion of the Mall at Greece Ridge, near Circuit City and Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Online Learner Permit Testing Available in Local High Schools Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo partners with local high schools to offer Online Learner Permit Testing.
Special Passport Dates for 2008 The Monroe County Clerk's Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to process passport applications. In addition, Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo will host special passport services in 2008. Please click here for a detailed list.
Passport Saturdays in 2008

The Monroe County Clerk's Downtown Office at 39 West Main Street will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on the following Saturdays in 2008 to handle the processing of Passport applications.
