Electronic Records Indexing

Our office is proud to offer access to public records. Any information available through the terminals in our downtown office is accessable to you right on your desktop. This information includes image retrieval of documents that have been scanned into our system since June of 1993.

In addition, you can now order certified copies of the documents available through our On-line Office. Simply follow the prompts that appear after you have completed your search. Your certified copies will then arrive in the mail within 5 to 10 business days.

Pittsford Town Hall and Greece Town Hall To Host Passport Services Every Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. County Clerk’s Office staff will provide the entire range of passport services at the two locations, including photos and expedited applications, without need for an appointment. On August 17, 2011 and August 24, 2011, staff will be available on Wednesday in the Greece and Pittsford Town Halls. Beginning the week of August 29, 2011, staff is available at the Pittsford Town Hall every Wednesday and the Greece Town Hall every Thursday.
Renew Monroe Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo launched "Renew Monroe", encouraging residents to renew their vehicle registrations at local DMV offices. Over $500,000 annually could be kept working here if every vehicle owner in Monroe County participated in the new program. Residents can mail their renewals to the Henrietta DMV Office, use a convenient drop box, or for immediate return of their registration, use an Express Line at any permanent DMV branch.
County Clerks Call on State DMV to Return Renewal Processing Members of the Finger Lakes Region of the New York State Association of County Clerks (NYSACC) held a joint press conference today to object to the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles' desire to contract with an outside entity for the processing of motor vehicle registration renewals.

Greece DMV at the Mall at Greece Ridge to Open the Last Saturday of Every Month

Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo announced that the Greece DMV office will open on the last Saturday of every month, beginning Saturday, May 31, 2008. These "DMV Saturdays" are an expansion of the Clerk's Office "Renew Monroe!" program that encourages residents to handle their DMV and Passport business locally. The Greece DMV office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during DMV Saturdays.


Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo Outlines Changes to State's Graduated Driver's License Law Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo today discussed a series of changes effective Monday, February 22, 2010 regarding New York’s Graduated License Law. Dinolfo said the changes – intended to protect younger drivers – are pertinent to junior permit holders that had scheduled their skills test for on or after February 22, 2010.
County Clerks Announce Opposition To State Legislation Mandating Licensing of Bicycles

Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo, Livingston County Clerk Jim Culbertson, Cayuga County Clerk Susan Dwyer and Wayne County Clerk Michael Jankowski today announced their strong opposition to proposed state legislation mandating the licensing of bicycles.

 

The bill, introduced in the State Assembly by Assemblyman Michael DenDekker, would mandate the licensing and inspection of all personal bicycles in New York State.

Clerk Dinolfo Announces Electronic Recording of Land Records

Rochester – Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo announced today that Rochester and Monroe County residents will soon be able to file certain land records in the County Clerk’s Office online, saving customers the costs associated with traveling downtown or mailing in their documents to be recorded and providing a great convenience by allowing documents to be sent electronically to the County Clerk’s Office.
 

Last week the New York State Legislature opened the door to permit the electronic recording of land records such as deeds and mortgages in New York State.  The legislation, which overwhelmingly passed both the Senate (S.2373A) and the Assembly (A687A), provides that electronic recording of land records will be authorized in one year, allowing for Statewide standards to be set.
