Pittsford and Greece Town Halls To Host Passport Services Every Wednesday!

Rochester – Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo, Greece Town Supervisor Jack Auberger and Pittsford Town Supervisor Bill Carpenter today announced the creation of Passport Express at the Greece Town Hall and Pittsford Town Hall. Every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. County Clerk’s Office staff will provide the entire range of passport services at the two locations, including photos and expedited applications, without need for an appointment.

The new service is another step in response to the federal government’s decision to stop the acceptance of passport applications in DMV offices nationwide. “Passport Express restores services in our suburbs and builds upon our recently announced Passport Saturdays at the end of each month,” said Clerk Dinolfo. “I’m thrilled that Supervisors Auberger and Carpenter have joined with me to enhance customer service for our constituents.”

"Having Passport Express at the Greece Town Hall provides a quick and convenient way for residents in our area to take care of all of their passport needs," said Supervisor Auberger. "This is just another example of Monroe County and the Town of Greece working together to provide better services for our residents." “I’m pleased to be able to partner with County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo to provide the Passport Express service in Pittsford,” said Pittsford Supervisor Bill Carpenter. “This is an opportunity to help residents from all over Monroe County have easier access to getting their passports and hopefully they will take time to visit our new Library.”

Passport services are also available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on the last Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the County Office Building, 39 W. Main St. in Downtown Rochester. The total passport application fee is $97.00 for applicants age 16 and older, and $82.00 for applicants under age 16. The fees are set by the federal government and are the same regardless of where an individual applies. Necessary passport photos are also available for $10.00 a set. “I’m proud that we are continuing to ensure that taxpayers can obtain a Passport as easily as possible. However, I’m still eager to partner with more local businesses, schools and other organizations to expand access to these needed services as the federal government strengthens requirements for foreign travel,” said Clerk Dinolfo. “As always, any interested business or school district can call my office at 753-1645 to inquire about bringing passport services to their location.”

All passport applicants must present a raised seal birth certificate and should seek additional information on how to apply for a passport from www.monroecounty.gov by clicking on the County Clerk link, or at www.travel.state.gov.

The Pittsford Community Library is located at 24 State Street in the Village of Pittsford and Greece Town Hall is located at 1 Vince Tofany Blvd., off of Long Pond Road.

The Monroe County Clerk’s Office handled nearly 700,000 transactions totaling over $80 million in 2005 including mortgages, legal filings, passports, pistol permits, driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations.
