Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks today announced a major
improvement to the Seneca Park Zoo - the construction of an African Elephant
exhibit which will be home to Lilac and Genny C, the Zoo’s two female
elephants, and Genny C’s baby, which is expected to arrive in March 2006.

A dead crow found in the town of Brighton has tested positive for West Nile
virus (WNV), according to Monroe County health officials. Monroe County is the 17th
county in the state to detect WNV in birds this year. There has been one human WNV
