County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo Provides Yellow Dot Program Kits In All DMV Offices
Mon, Feb 11 2013
Yellow Dot is a free program designed to help first responders provide life-saving medical attention in the event of an emergency. It puts vital medical information in the hands of first responders at the unfortunate times when split-second decision making matters the most.
“I am happy to participate in this program and to provide another convenient opportunity for the people of this community to obtain a Yellow Dot program kit,” said Dinolfo. “With over 500,000 residents visiting our local DMV offices all across the County each year, this will be a great way to provide this vital information to our residents.”
The Yellow Dot kit contains a medical information card and a Yellow Dot decal. Participants complete the card, attach a recent photo, place it in the glove compartment of their vehicle, and affix the Yellow Dot decal on the rear driver’s side window. First responders arriving at the scene of an emergency will be alerted by the Yellow Dot decal and look for the medical information card in the glove compartment.
The Yellow Dot decal may also be used to alert those who respond to an emergency at home. Participants would place the Yellow Dot decal on the front door and keep the completed medical information form for each occupant in the freezer of the resident’s refrigerator.
Yellow Dot kits are also available at the Sheriff’s Office Central Records Unit and Sheriff’s zone substations. You can also have a kit mailed to you by visiting www.monroecountysheriff.info and clicking on the Yellow Dot link.
