As an educator, you understand the importance of keeping students interested and involved. We here at the Department of Environmental Services have gathered a collection of materials and activities to help make environmental education fun in YOUR classroom.
We understand your need to address the goals of your curriculum in the classroom, and we have done our best to match our goals with yours. Many of the activities involve the use of the SCIENTIFIC METHOD, because we believe that good science is a combination of questioning, experiments, evidence, logical argument, ingenuity, and skeptical peer review.
Another area that grows more important with each passing day is TECHNOLOGY. It is imperative that we educate our young students about not only the benefits of emerging and existing technologies, but of their limitations and potential negative impacts as well. By doing this, we increase the chance that they will make good, ethical decisions concerning technology and the environment.
