The GreatRate/GreatRebate Program

GreatRate/GreatRebate Applications

When you open the GreatRate/GreatRebate PDF application form , you can type directly online and then print the final form and mail/fax it or you can print the form and type it. Please keep in mind if you choose to type the application online, you will lose all of your information as soon as you close the PDF window. This is to ensure confidentiality.

GreatRate Program

The GreatRate Interest Subsidy Program provides businesses with an interest subsidy due on a fixed rate loan or a capital lease used to purchase machinery or equipment, if the company meets its job creation requirement. The subsidy will be 3% or if the equipment is purchased locally, the subsidy will be 4%. (Rate cannot be subsidized below 1%.)

GreatRate Criteria:

  • Be a non-retail for profit business.
  • Meet the SBA’s definition of a small business.
  • Be headquartered in Monroe County.
  • Create one job for every $50,000 in loan or lease subsidized up to $200,000 or increase employee base by 10%, whichever is less. Job creation must occur in Monroe County within 12 months of loan or lease closing.

Locally is defined as purchasing equipment from a vendor in Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, or Wayne County.

GreatRebate Program

The GreatRebate program builds on the success of the County’s GreatRate Program, helping employers make investments in equipment in order to create jobs.

The GreatRebate program expands the number of companies that qualify for incentives, enabling companies that purchase equipment in cash to take advantage of the incentives.

The GreatRebate Program provides businesses with a rebate on equipment purchases of at least $50,000, if the company meets its job creation requirement. The rebate will be $4,000 or if the equipment is purchased locally, the rebate will be $5,000.

GreatRebate Criteria:

  • Be a non-retail for profit business.
  • Meet the SBA’s definition of a small business.
  • Be headquartered in Monroe County.
  • Create one job for every $50,000 in equipment purchased up to $200,000 or increase employee base by 10%, whichever is less. Job creation must occur in Monroe County within 24 months or equipment purchase.

Locally is defined as purchasing equipment from a vendor in Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, or Wayne County.

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks today announced that Flower City Printing has been named Monroe County’s “Business of the Month” for January.

Business of the Month: Color Methods, Inc., (CMI) Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks announced that Color Methods, Inc., (CMI) a premier audiovisual services company, has been named Monroe County’s “Business of the Month”.

“CMI Communications, located in Gates, is helping to put Monroe County on the map by providing premier audiovisual services and equipment for company presentations throughout the nation and across the globe,” said Brooks.
Business of the Month: PEKO Precision Products

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks announced that PEKO Precision Products, a multi-faceted, advanced center for technology and product commercialization, has been named Monroe County’s “Business of the Month”.

I am proud to have PEKO Precision Products in Monroe County and am thankful for their commitment to our community,” said Brooks. “For over 40 years, PEKO has continued to grow and flourish right here in Monroe County and they remain here today thanks to our highly skilled workforce and a quality of life that is second to none.

Business of the Month: Stefan Sydor Optics, Inc.

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks today announced that Stefan Sydor Optics, Inc. has been named Monroe County’s "Business of the Month".

"Stefan Sydor Optics, Inc. is a perfect example of the spirit of innovation and cutting-edge technology that exists right here in Monroe County," said Brooks. "I am proud to have Sydor in our community as they continue to grow and do business here. In fact, the company has seen tremendous growth in recent years and has been nationally recognized as one of the country’s fastest growing companies. That is something for all of us to take pride in as Sydor continues to put Monroe County on the map."

Business of The Month: Drapery Industries

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks today announced that Drapery Industires, Inc. has been named Monroe County's "Business of the Month" and is featured on Monroe County's website, monroecounty.gov.

"I am proud to announce Drapery Industires, Inc. as the Monroe County Business of the Month.  Drapery Industries is a great company and I am proud to have them right here in our community," said Brooks.  "For over forty years, Drapery Industries has served our region, providing quality services and custom products, and their continued commitment to customer service truly sets them apart."
