When you open the GreatRate/GreatRebate PDF application form (111k PDF), you can type directly online and then print the final form and mail it or you can print the form and type it using a typewriter. Please keep in mind if you choose to type the application online, you will lose all of your information as soon as you close the PDF window. This is to ensure confidentiality.

GreatRate Program
The GreatRate Interest Subsidy Program provides businesses with an interest subsidy due on a fixed rate loan or a capital lease used to purchase machinery or equipment, if the company meets its job creation requirement. The subsidy will be 3% or if the equipment is purchased locally, the subsidy will be 4%. (Rate cannot be subsidized below 1%.)
GreatRate Criteria:
- Be a non-retail for profit business.
- Meet the SBA’s definition of a small business.
- Be headquartered in Monroe County.
- Create one job for every $50,000 in loan or lease subsidized up to $200,000 or increase employee base by 10%, whichever is less. Job creation must occur in Monroe County within 12 months of loan or lease closing.
Locally is defined as purchasing equipment from a vendor in Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, or Wayne County.

GreatRate Success Stories
The GreatRate Interest Subsidy Program provides businesses in Monroe County with a 3% subsidy of the interest due on a fixed rate loan or lease ($50,000–$200,000) and must be used to purchase machinery or equipment.
Qualtech
Qualtech Reprographics recently purchased a new Heidelberg Press and was able to reduce the interest rate on their loan with HSBC Bank by coupling the Monroe County GreatRate program with the New York State Linked Deposit Program. Qualtech has been in business since 1986 and started with 3 employees. The company is owned by Lisa and Jerry Giglio. The company now has 11 employees and expects to increase by 3 additional employees as a result of purchasing the new press, which will increase their printing capabilities.
Lisa Giglio said, “The decision to invest in the press was made easier knowing that we could use both the GreatRate and Linked Deposit programs. This allowed us to reduce our interest rate and payments.”
Oakwood Woodworks Ltd.
Oakwood Woodworks, located in Rochester, New York offers pride in workmanship and uncompromising quality in architectural millwork, specializing in solid wood stile and rail doors, frames, molding and trim.
Oakwood Woodworks was approved for a GreatRate Interest Subsidy to assist in the purchase of new saws, planer and related equipment and to create five new jobs. The total subsidy payable over three years is estimated at over $11,000.
Prestige Precision Products Inc.
Prestige Precision Products was founded in 1981 to supply dies, fixtures and gauges to the Rochester, New York manufacturing community. Several years after gaining a reputation for top quality tooling, Prestige entered the precision machining arena.
Prestige Precision Products Inc. was approved for a GreatRate interest subsidy to assist the company in purchasing CNC Coordinate Measuring Machine, and the creation of three new jobs. The total subsidy, payable over three years, is estimated to be in excess of $5,700.
GreatRebate Program
The GreatRebate program builds on the success of the County’s GreatRate Program, helping employers make investments in equipment in order to create jobs.
The GreatRebate program expands the number of companies that qualify for incentives, enabling companies that purchase equipment in cash to take advantage of the incentives.
The GreatRebate Program provides businesses with a rebate on equipment purchases of at least $50,000, if the company meets its job creation requirement. The rebate will be $4,000 or if the equipment is purchased locally, the rebate will be $5,000.
GreatRebate Criteria:

The GreatRebate program was created to reward small businesses investing in equipment and jobs. Many companies have benefited from this program including Light Fabrications, Inc., Century Mold, Performance Technologies, Inc., Trident Precision Manufacturing, SenDEC Corporation, J. MacKenzie Ltd., Impact Technologies, LLC, Integrated Nano-Technologies, and SPSmedical Supply, Inc.
Under the GreatRebate program, applicants can qualify for a $4,000 rebate for equipment purchases exceeding $50,000 if they increase jobs by 10 percent over two years. The rebate will be paid at the end of the two-year period, once the required jobs have been created.
SPSmedical Supply, Inc.
Located in the town of Rush, SPSmedical is the largest sterilizer testing laboratory in North America. SPS offers the industry’s most complete line of sterility assurance products under the SPS Brand through authorized distributors worldwide. SPSmedical provides a wide range of sterilization consulting and testing services to medical device manufacturers.
The GreatRebate program will assist SPS with purchasing a Sterrad 100 Industrial Sterilizer which will help the company create 3 new jobs.
Integrated Nano-Technologies
Monroe County approved a GreatRebate incentive for Integrated Nano-Technologies in the Town of Henrietta. The GreatRebate program will assist Integrated Nano-Technologies in the purchase of a laser etcher, semiconductor analyzer, and a phospho imager, which will help the company expand its operations and retain 19 jobs and create 2 additional positions. Integrated Nano-Technologies is a research and development company and manufacturer of an electronic DNA system.
Impact Technologies, LLC
A GreatRebate incentive was approved for Impact Technologies, LLC in the Town of Henrietta. The GreatRebate program will assist Impact Technologies in the purchase of a 16-channel analyzer and 2-channel blade-tip measurement system, which will help the company expand its operations and retain 21 jobs and create 2 additional positions.
Impact Technologies, LLC is dedicated to the development of complete solutions for turbomachinery applications, including health monitoring systems, engineering design/analysis, software development, life cycle cost reduction and web-based applications.
J. Mackenzie Ltd.
J. Mackenzie Ltd. received a GreatRebate incentive to purchase a Polar Guillotine Cutter. J. MacKenzie Ltd. is a custom paper converting operation that can accommodate runs from 1,000 up to 1,000,000 sheets in a variety of stocks and finished sizes. Located in Henrietta, J. Mackenzie plans to create 4 additional jobs to its existing employee base of 35.
SenDEC Corporation
SenDEC Corporation was approved for a GreatRebate incentive. Located in the Town of Fairport, SenDEC Corporation will purchase a Real Time X-Ray machine, which will help the company expand its operations and create a projected 5 new jobs.
SenDEC Corporation provides high quality contract manufacturing and electronic engineering services, with 53 employees located at a facility in Perinton Industrial Estates.
Trident Precision Manufacturing
Trident Precision Manufacturing, Inc. was approved to receive a GreatRebate incentive that was announced on August 19th. The incentive will assist Trident in the purchase of a laser cutting machine, which will help the company expand its operations and create a projected 13 new jobs.
Trident is a precision manufacturing company with 125 employees at its Salt Road facility in the Town of Webster.
Performance Technologies, Inc.
Performance Technologies, Inc. was approved for a GreatRebate incentive. Located in the Town of Greece, Performance Technologies will purchase a surface mount machine, which will help the company expand its operations and create a projected 10 new jobs.
Performance Technologies, Inc. is a manufacturer of telecommunications and networking products with 107 employees located at a facility in Canal Ponds.
Century Mold
Monroe County approved a GreatRebate incentive for the Century Mold Company, Inc., in Gates. The GreatRebate program will assist Century Mold in the purchase of a Vertical Machining Center, which will help the company expand its operations and create a projected 17 new jobs over the next two years.
Century Mold is an injection molding company that presently employs 169 people at its Vantage Point facility in the Town of Gates.
Light Fabrications
Light Fabrications, Inc., was the first company to receive assistance under the County’s GreatRebate incentive program.
Light Fabrications was able to purchase a rotary fabricator which will expand their employee base from 145–160 over the next two years at its facility at 40 Hytec Circle in Gates. In addition to GreatRebate incentives, the company is also working with the County’s Industrial Development Agency (COMIDA) to expand their facility and create 40 new jobs over the next three years.
