Intro to GIS
GIS is no longer limited to mapping specialists. These days, almost anyone can take advantage of the power of GIS including engineers, land-use specialists, planners, social scientists, fire, police and emergency management professionals, infrastructure managers, or anyone else who works with data with a geographic component.
- Monroe County's Intro to GIS Using ArcGIS 9.3.1 provides a strong understanding of the fundamental principles of GIS, as well as hands-on experience with the latest software. This is a two day class.

Monroe County's Intro to ArcGIS 9.3.1
Classes are held from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., in the City Place Computer Lab room 3134, 50 West Main Street. The class is FREE to all Monroe County Residents. The registration fee for those who live outside the county is $300.00 (checks are payable to Monroe County Department of Environmental Services). This session will be basic introduction to Pictometry giving users the understanding of what Pictometry is and some of the basic tools of the Pictometry viewer program called Electronic Field Study. This class is given on a as needed basis and will have to be scheduled with me by your supervisor, and will require a minimum of 8 people to sign up. This class is for those organizations which have Pictometry provided for them under the Monroe County Pictometry License. For both classes you will need to register in order for class materials and workstations to be provided. Monroe County has a 22 seat computer lab which on Fridays which is available with staff from the GIS Services division by appointment. This is open to all Monroe County residents who have a project already started and are looking for some assistance with it.
