 Flu

It's not too late to get a flu shot!!

Unlike most vaccinations, you must get a flu shot every year. While most people get immunized in October and November, there is still ample time to benefit from getting a flu shot.

It is now recommended that all persons aged 6-months and older get immunized against flu. There are injectable (shots) and nasal spray versions. Both provide the same protection.

Many doctor's offices and local pharmacies (CVS, Rite-Aid,Target, Walgreens) are still offering flu shots. Pharmacies offer numerous dates and times. Visit their Web sites for details. Many of the other public clinics have ended for this year.

Flu shots are also available at the Monroe County Department of Public Health, 111 Westfall Road, at our walk-in clinic on Wednesdays from Noon - 7 p.m. (please arrive by 6 p.m.) During certain weeks we have additional immunization clinic hours when flu shots are available. You can learn these additional times for a particular week by calling 753-5150. Please be sure to bring any insurance cards that you have.
