Purpose
Open Enrollment is an important opportunity for you to assess your benefits and make choices that maximize your savings.
In addition to the information packet you received last Friday with your paycheck, HR wants to ensure that you have access to Open Enrollment information in an electronic format, including enrollment and change forms, health insurance plan summaries and contribution costs.
Please pay particular attention to:
- Choosing a Health Insurance plan that provides quality coverage AND reduces the amount deducted from your paycheck.
- Using pre-tax deductions to save approximately 30% of each dollar contributed to the following benefits plans:
- Flexible Spending Accounts
- Medical Expense
- Dependent Care Expenses
- Pre-tax Parking/Transit Commute Program
- Deferred Compensation Program
As you review your open enrollment material at home, you may also find the following websites for service providers useful:
- Excellus Blue Cross and Blue Shield—Health benefits information.
- Health Economics Group, Inc. of Rochester, NY—Managing employee benefit plans.
- The Hartford—Retirement goals information.
December 2, 2005, is the last day to submit enrollment applications for Health Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts and Pre-Tax Parking/Transit Commute Program. Deferred Compensation enrollment can take place throughout the year.
