Brooks, Friendly's Restaurants Collaborate for Monroe County's Senior Breakfast Club

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks and representatives of Friendly’s Restaurants today announced an extension of the Monroe County Office for the Aging’s Senior Nutritional Program, the Senior Breakfast Club. The program, which will run Mondays through Thursdays, will allow senior residents within Monroe County the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary and nutritional breakfast at Friendly’s Restaurants.
Beginning today, January 19th, seniors are able to enjoy a healthy Friendly’s breakfast 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at the Greece Mall location, and 8:00 – 11:00 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays at the W. Henrietta Road location.
“This extension of the Monroe County Senior Nutritional Program serves as a shining example of how our community continues to support our senior population, and gives them new opportunities to lead healthy, active, and independent lives,” said County Executive Brooks. “I am grateful for our partnership and collaborative efforts with Friendly’s Restaurants, and am certain many seniors will greatly benefit from this outstanding program.”
Brooks was joined by Larry Ross, Director of Marketing for Kessler and Friendly’s Restaurants.
"Friendly's is excited for the opportunity to partner with Monroe County to offer the Senior Breakfast Club in our community," stated Ross. "The program will provide seniors a fun, welcoming environment to socialize, while they enjoy an affordable, nutritious meal."
While the Friendly’s breakfast is complimentary, seniors are suggested to make a three dollar donation, which will go towards the continuation of the Senior Nutritional Program. There are no reservations necessary, but seniors must be part of the Breakfast Club. Sign-up sheets will be available at each Friendly’s Restaurant.
