Monroe County Announces Veterans' Forums
Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks announced a new initiative aimed at providing local veterans with the best possible care and services from Monroe County: Veterans’ Forums. The Forums, which will be hosted quarterly by the Monroe County Veterans Service Agency, begin this coming Thursday, January 28, 2010.
“As County Executive, it is crucial that our government goes above and beyond supporting our local heroes,” said Brooks. “These Forums serve as yet another way that Monroe County is dedicated and committed to helping our veterans, as they have sacrificed and given so much of themselves for our great nation.”
Including updates on activities of the Monroe County Veterans Service Agency, presenting topics by guest speakers who have expertise in veteran’s issues and receiving feedback and suggestions for government services, the Forums are open to all Monroe County veterans, regardless of age or time served in the military.
The Forums will kick-off at 5:30 p.m. January 28, 2010, and will be held at Monroe Community Hospital in the Brass Chandelier Room. The remaining three meetings are tentatively scheduled for May 13th, July 29th and October 28, 2010 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
