Organizational Goals and Objectives
Goal 1 (all bureaus)
Protect the community by preventing and reducing crime and violence.
- Reduce the threat/incidence of crime.
- Develop strategies and implement resources to respond to terrorism.
- Develop and support innovative community based programs aimed at reducing crime and violence.
- Develop and promote effective partnerships with community groups to respond to community needs and expectations, and foster community support.
Goal 2 (Jail/Court)
Provide for the safe, humane and secure confinement of persons in custody.
- Provide for safe, secure and humane confinement of detained persons awaiting trial or sentencing, and the sentenced population.
- Maintain and operate correction facilities in a safe, secure, humane and efficient manner.
- Ensure sufficient and cost effective operations in the correction facilities.
- Provide services and programs to facilitate inmates successful return into the community.
Goal 3 (all bureaus)
Ensure efficient, consistent and safe function of the criminal justice system.
- Ensure the integrity and safe and secure operations of the judicial system by protecting judges and other participants in court proceedings.
- Protect crime victims rights and assist in moving them through the criminal justice system.
- Ensure the appearance of defendants for judicial proceedings or confinement through secure transportation.
