Dinolfo Dedicates The Joe And Jean Carrozzi Performance Pavilion And Kicks Off The Wegmans Concerts By The Shore Series

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo joined members of the community in a dedication ceremony to rename the pavilion at Ontario Beach Park the “Joe and Jean Carrozzi Performance Pavilion”. This dedication is in honor of the Carrozzi’s legacy as the founders of the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee and their dedication to Charlotte and Monroe County. Started by Joe and Jean Carrozzi in 1984, the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee has hosted a variety of events in an effort to bring people together to enjoy the beauty of Ontario Beach Park while spending quality time with friends, family and neighbors.

Dinolfo also kicked off the Ontario Beach Park annual Wegmans Concerts by the Shore Series for the 2019 summer season. The first performance of the summer took place this evening and featured “Nik and the Nice Guys”. The next concert will take place next Wednesday, June 19th featuring the Skycoasters. All of the concerts included in the Concerts by the Shore series are free to the public and run every Wednesday through August 28th.

“Today’s dedication is a testament to the power of love for community and volunteering that Joe and Jean Carrozzi have shown Charlotte and Monroe County for over 30 years.” said Dinolfo. “With the formation of the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee, the Carrozzi’s sought to create a group of dedicated volunteers with a common goal of bringing the community together through fun events, all free to the public. Their success has brought joy and happiness to thousands of families for the past three decades and I am proud to rename the performance pavilion in their honor. I encourage everyone to spend a Wednesday evening listening to fantastic music at the Concerts by the Shore series while enjoying our wonderful Ontario Beach Park.”

For over 25 years, Wegmans has partnered with the Ontario Beach Parks Program Committee to bring our community these free concerts.

“Over the past 30 years, our partnership with the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee, Monroe County and the City of Rochester, has brought 418 free family concerts to Ontario Beach Park,” said Linda Lovejoy, Wegmans Community Relations Manager. “The 2019 concert series is a particularly special one for us as we celebrate the dedication of the Performance Pavilion at the Park in honor of Joe and Jean Carrozzi. The Carrozzi’s have worked tirelessly for over three decades as leadership volunteers with the OBPPC to bring family entertainment and activities to Ontario Beach Park including concerts, festivals, senior dances, kite flights, River Romance, National Night Out, and more.”

“The committee is excited to be able to continue to present the Wegmans Concerts by the Shore series at Ontario Beach Park,” said Jim Farr, Chairman of the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee. “The success of this perennial summer tradition is largely due to the commitment and leadership of Jean and Joe Carrozzi who are being recognized through this evening’s dedication.”
“I am excited about this year’s Concerts by the Shore series. Community events like the Concerts by the Shore play an important role in our efforts to bring more jobs, safer and more vibrant neighborhoods and better educational opportunities to our citizens,” said Mayor Lovely Warren.

We hope that everyone will take the opportunity to attend these fun and free concerts. For more information go to OntarioBeachEntertainment.org or call 865-3320.
