Pertussis: Adults Should Be Vaccinated To Protect Infants

Close contacts of infants and young children should get a Tdap shot so they stay healthy and to prevent spreading the illness. Close contacts include: new parents, grandparents, day care workers and health care workers.This shot will also protect against tetanus and diphtheria. Click here for details.

$5,500 HUD Lead Grants Available

Dinolfo Pursues Financial Assistance For Lakeshore Residents

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and New York State Deputy Secretary for Intergovernmental Affairs Joseph Rabito visited residents and business owners on Lake Ontario viewing damage to property, businesses and danger to public infrastructure. Greece Supervisor William Reilich and Irondequoit Supervisor Dave Seeley participated in this review of high water damage, in their respective towns. During the visit, Dinolfo continued to request that the State’s assistance be expedited in the form of barriers to armor roadways and financial compensation for those impacted by the high lake levels.

Dinolfo, O’Flynn & Doorley Urge Safe Travel During Memorial Day

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo joined Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn, District Attorney Sandra Doorley and local police chiefs to encourage residents to be safe on the roads during the busiest Memorial Day weekend for travel since 2005, according to AAA. Considered the unofficial kickoff to the summer season, Memorial Day weekend is an important opportunity to remind motorists to drive responsibly and to be aware of their surroundings.

Statement From Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo On Attack In Manchester

My deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones in this heinous act of terror callously targeted at children and teenagers. Monroe County stands in solidarity with the people of Manchester and our thoughts and prayers are with their families today and in the future as we grieve this senseless violence.

Dinolfo Announces “Girls Sports Festival” To Be Held In Monroe County

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo joined Don Jeffries, President of Visit Rochester, Olympic Fencer Iris Zimmermann and representatives from the Monroe County Sports Commission to announce a Monroe County Girls Sports Festival. The Festival is a half-day athletic event in which young women ages 6-12 have the opportunity to try a variety of traditional, as well as up-and-coming, non-traditional sports.

Monroe County Unveils New Shade Structure In Webster Park

Representatives of the Monroe County Parks Department and the Rochester Melanoma Action Group (RMAG) unveiled a new shade structure in Webster Park. The shade structure is adjacent to the Holt Road playground and provides a place for park visitors to find shelter from direct sunlight, a leading cause of melanoma.

Dinolfo, O'Flynn And Wegmans Announce Renewed Focus On Proper Pharmaceutical Waste Disposal

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo joined Monroe County Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn and representatives from Wegmans to announce that the County’s Department of Environmental Services (DES) and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Wegmans to hold pharmaceutical waste collections to encourage the proper disposal of prescription medications. Unused medications can be subjected to abuse, contributing to the ongoing opioid epidemic.
