Pertussis: Adults Should Be Vaccinated To Protect Infants

Close contacts of infants and young children should get a Tdap shot so they stay healthy and to prevent spreading the illness. Close contacts include: new parents, grandparents, day care workers and health care workers.This shot will also protect against tetanus and diphtheria. Click here for details.

$5,500 HUD Lead Grants Available

Dinolfo, Foodlink Partner To Bring Curbside Market To DHS Offices on Westfall Road

In recognition of national Hunger Action Month, Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that Monroe County and Foodlink will soon be partnering to host Foodlink’s Curbside Market program at Monroe County’s Department of Human Services (MCDHS) campus located at 111 Westfall Road.

Dinolfo Announces Project Approved By Imagine Monroe

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that Imagine Monroe has approved assistance for one local economic development project: an expansion by Paychex, Inc. The project is projected to retain a total of 769 jobs and create a total of 375 new full-time jobs in Monroe County.

Residents Can Recycle Common Summer Items at County's ecopark

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo encouraged residents to bring their commonly-used summer items to Monroe County’s innovative ecopark for proper recycling, including propane tanks, bulky plastics, electronics and old paint. These items should not be disposed of at the curb, neither in curbside recycling bins nor in garbage toters, and in many cases will only be accepted for recycling purposes at the ecopark.

Dinolfo Announces Extended "Back to School" Hours for Immunization Clinic

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo was joined by Barbara Deane-Williams, Superintendent of the Rochester City School District to announce extended hours for Monroe County’s Immunization Clinic located at 111 Westfall Road, Rochester, NY 14620. Extended hours at the clinic are intended to serve students who are at-risk of being withheld from school for not having the proper vaccinations.

Dinolfo Announces Public Hearings for Shared Services Plan

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced Public Hearing dates for the draft Monroe County Shared Services Plan. The draft plan was formulated by the Shared Services Panel convened by County Executive Dinolfo, as required by the County-Wide Shared Services Initiative established in the State budget adopted earlier this year.

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that a team of Monroe County Employees from the Department of Environmental Services (DES) placed third at the New York Water Environment Association’s (NYWEA) Operations Challenge recently held which allows them to compete in the International Operations Challenge in October. The competition consists of five timed events capturing the wide variety of skills required by modern water quality professionals including: collection systems, laboratory, maintenance, process control and safety.
