Brooks Announces 2013 Season Of Free Movies In Our Monroe County Parks

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks announced that the County’s “Movies in the Parks” series will return for the 2013 summer season.  This year, the County Parks Department will screen a total of 8 quality motion pictures at Ontario Beach Park and the Highland Park Bowl.

“Our ‘Movies in the Parks’ series gives residents the opportunity to experience big-screen motion pictures under the stars in two of our finest County Parks,” said County Executive Brooks.  “Our 2013 season kicks-off with the classic summertime thriller ‘Jaws,’ and concludes with ‘Les Misérables,’ the recent winner of three Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actress for Anne Hathaway’s remarkable performance.  Best of all, every one of our movies is open to the public and will be shown free of charge, again this year.”

Movies at the Beach is a FREE outdoor event at Monroe County’s Ontario Beach Park every Tuesday evening from July 9 to July 30, 2013.  Pre-show fun starts at 8:30 pm, with movies starting at dark.  The schedule of movies is as follows:
July        9     –    Jaws (PG)
July      16     –     The Amazing Spider-Man (PG-13)
July      23     –     Skyfall (PG-13)
July      30     –     The Hunger Games (PG-13)

Movies in the Bowl is a FREE outdoor event at the Highland Park Bowl every Thursday evening from July 11 to August 1, 2013.  Pre-show fun starts at 8:30 pm, with movies starting at dark.  The schedule of movies is as follows:
July     11     –    The Lorax (PG)
July     18     –    “Annual Retro Night” -- Ghostbusters (PG)
July     25    –    Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted (PG)
August   1     –    Les Misérables (PG-13)
