Dinolfo And O’Flynn Announce Contract Agreement With Sheriff's Road Patrol Union

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn announced that the Monroe County Sheriff’s Police Benevolent Association (PBA), which represents the Sheriff’s Department Road Patrol, ratified a 5-year collective bargaining agreement. Dinolfo has sent a request to Legislature President Anthony Daniele for a special meeting of the full Legislature to approve the agreement.

“Monroe County is very pleased to reach this mutually beneficial agreement and I thank the members of the PBA for showing what we can accomplish when everyone comes to the table,” said Dinolfo. “The men and women of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office serve our community, every day, with dedication and they are recognized as the preeminent law enforcement agency in the State. I believe this is a fair and equitable settlement that meets the needs of the deputies and is fiscally responsible to the taxpayers of Monroe County.”

The agreement, which covers 2017 - 2021, affects the wages and benefits of 255 Monroe County Sheriff’s Office employees in the Police Bureau.

After working extensively behind the scenes with all of the parties, I’m proud to say that we have reached a fair agreement,” said O’Flynn. “I am encouraged by the teamwork displayed at the table and am confident that this agreement reflects the appreciation we have for the hard work performed every day by the members of the Sheriff’s Office to protect the citizens of Monroe County.

The Deputy Sheriff’s PBA is one of three labor organizations representing Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies.

This agreement is subject to the approval of the Monroe County Legislature.
