Dinolfo Announces Return of Free Youth February at Seneca Park Zoo

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo today announced the return of “Free Youth February” at the Seneca Park Zoo. Each adult who purchases an admissions ticket in February can have up to five youth guests (ages 3-11) join them for their Zoo visit for free.

“February offers so many great opportunities for families to enjoy time together at our Seneca Park Zoo, especially when the kids are home from school for winter break,” said Dinolfo. “Free Youth February is the perfect cure for those cases of cabin fever, so come on out and join us for some affordable family fun at the Zoo this month!"

Now through March 31, Seneca Park Zoo opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 3 p.m., with grounds remaining open until 4 p.m. The Front Gate opens at 9:30 a.m. for members. Adult admission (ages 12-62) is $10 during the winter season. Free youth offer only valid on the same day of purchase and when purchasing tickets at the Front Gate.

Guests visiting the Zoo in February may notice many of the animals are quite active on colder days.

“Animals like the Amur tiger, Canadian lynx, and California sea lions are very active during the colder months,” said Zoo Director Larry Sorel. “February is also a great time to see animals like the baboons and African lions. Any snow on the ground is another form of enrichment.”
