Dinolfo To Host American Red Cross Blood Drive On Wednesday, December 12th

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo will be sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, December 12th in the County Office Building Atrium, located at 39 West Main Street in Downtown Rochester. The drive will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

“We are in the midst of the season of giving, and I can think of no greater gift than the gift of life,” said Dinolfo. “The American Red Cross is always there to help those in need and now it is our time as citizens of Monroe County to do our part. I encourage everyone who is eligible to give blood to join us at the County Office Building on December 12th to help give the gift of life.”

The American Red Cross is experiencing a critical need for all blood types, and is encouraging blood and platelet donors to give as soon as possible. Dinolfo hopes those within our community who are eligible will consider donating.

This event is open to the public and donors are encouraged to make an appointment by calling (585)753-1000. This year, the Red Cross is offering $5 Amazon gift cards to all who donate on December 12th. Please provide your email address when you sign-up in order to receive this offer. Walk-ins will also be accepted throughout the day. Those wishing to donate can save time by using RapidPass to complete the pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of donation, prior to arriving at the blood drive. If you wish to do this, visit redcrossblood.org/RapidPass.

Anyone who is able to make a donation is encouraged to take this opportunity to donate to help prevent a blood shortage. Donors are reminded to bring a valid photo ID in order to donate. If you have previously donated blood, it must have been on or before October 17th, 2018 to be eligible for this drive.
