Dinolfo, Amerks Announce America Recycles Day Promotion on November 15

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and the Rochester Americans announced they will co-host America Recycles Day promotional night on Wednesday, November 15, when the Amerks take on the Binghamton Devils at 7:05 at the Blue Cross Arena. The game will feature free ticket deals and a recycling-themed giveaway.

“Hosting America Recycles Day with the Amerks is a great opportunity to highlight the continued importance of recycling, which protects taxpayers and the environment by keeping unnecessary waste out of landfills,” said Dinolfo. “Safeguarding this region’s unrivaled natural resources also helps support our broader work to attract more jobs and investment to Monroe County. I thank the Amerks for their partnership and I encourage fans to cash in their recyclables at our EcoPark for free tickets to the game.”

Fans attending the game on America Recycles Day will receive a commemorative reusable shopping bag as a postgame giveaway. Additionally, any fan that brings a recyclable item to Monroe County’s Ecopark on one of the following dates will receive a free ticket voucher to the America Recycles Day game:

• Saturday, November 4th
• Wednesday, November 8th

“The Rochester Americans are excited to renew their partnership with Monroe County Executive Dinolfo and her staff in the Department of Environmental Services on this very worthwhile initiative,” said Warren Kosel, Director of Public and Media Relations for the Amerks. “America Recycles Day provides yet another opportunity to not only help raise awareness for improving recycling measures here in our community, but also rewards County residents for doing their part with the chance to attend an Amerks game this season.”

Plastic bags will also be accepted during America Recycles Day at the Blue Cross Arena on Wednesday, November 15th. Any fans who bring plastic bags to the game will receive a voucher good for 75% off one regular-priced ticket. The voucher can be redeemed for that night’s game, or any remaining 2017-18 Wednesday night Amerks home game. One voucher will be distributed per person.

America Recycles Day promotional night will remind residents to recycle their plastic bags properly, either by reuse or by bringing them to a retailer or supermarket. Plastic bags should not be thrown in the garbage and should not be recycled in curbside bins.

Monroe County’s Ecopark, located at 10 Avion Drive in the town of Chili, is open Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For a full list of acceptable items, associated fees, and necessary appointments, please visit
