Dinolfo to Host American Red Cross Blood Drive on Valentine’s Day

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo will be sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, February 14th in the County Office Building Atrium, located at 39 West Main Street in Downtown Rochester. The drive will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

“I encourage everyone to consider joining me in giving the gift of life on a day of love by donating blood at our Red Cross blood drive this Valentine’s Day,” said Dinolfo. “There’s no better way to show our love and appreciation for our friends and neighbors in their time of need than by making a donation that will help to save lives.”

The American Red Cross is experiencing a critical need for all blood types, especially those with O Negative and B Negative blood types, and is encouraging blood and platelet donors to give as soon as possible. Dinolfo hopes those within our community who are eligible will consider donating.

This event is open to the public and donors are encouraged to make an appointment by contacting Shannon Barry at (585)753-1000. Walk-ins will also be accepted throughout the day. Those wishing to donate can save time by using RapidPass to complete the pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of donation, prior to arriving at the blood drive. Anyone who is able to make a donation is encouraged to take this opportunity to donate to help prevent a blood shortage. Donors are reminded to bring a valid photo ID in order to donate. If you have previously donated blood, it must have been on or before December 20th, 2017 to be eligible for this drive.
