Dinolfo Announces Swimming At Ontario Beach Is Now Open For 2019

ounty Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that public swimming at Ontario Beach Park, located in Rochester’s Charlotte Neighborhood, is now open for the 2019 Season.

“With the opening of swimming at Ontario Beach Park, we are officially kicking off summer here in Monroe County,” said Dinolfo. “Our wonderful beach is one of the many fantastic family attractions operated by our Monroe County Department of Parks, and better yet, it is entirely free of charge.”

The Monroe County lifeguard staff, under the leadership of Deputy Director of Parks Lisa Polito Nicolay, are now on duty. Swimming will be permitted at Ontario Beach Park each day, FREE of charge, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Swimming is only allowed when lifeguards are on duty.

In Lake Ontario, swimming is permitted only when conditions and water quality are favorable. Monroe County provides up-to-date information at (585) 753-5887 regarding the status of swimming conditions. Regardless if swimming is permitted or not on a given day, the sandy beach at the park will remain open for recreational use.

The 2019 Swimming Season at Ontario Beach Park is scheduled to run through Labor Day, Monday September 2nd.
