Seneca Park Zoo to be Closed January 5 and 6 Due to Frigid Weather

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that due to safety concerns for the community, Seneca Park Zoo will be closed Friday, January 5 and Saturday, January 6, 2018.

“We want Monroe County residents to stay safe during this upcoming frigid weather,” said Dinolfo. “With wind chill temperatures expected to be minus 25 degrees or worse, the safest place to be is at home.”

Dinolfo and Zoo leadership reassures the community that the animals at the Zoo will be safe and well cared for. “Our dedicated keeper and animal care staff will be caring for the animals as always, ensuring their safety during this cold snap,” stated Larry Sorel, Zoo Director.

The Zoo will reopen for regular hours on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
