Brooks Announces Plans for Construction of New African Elephant Exhibit

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks today announced a major improvement to the Seneca Park Zoo - the construction of an African Elephant exhibit which will be home to Lilac and Genny C, the Zoo’s two female elephants, and Genny C’s baby, which is expected to arrive in March 2006.

Brooks Creates Center For Civic Entrepreneurship

Isreali Dental Firm e-Dent Merges With VDC Portal, Establishes Operations In Rochester Region

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks, New York State Senator Joseph Robach and officials from Greater Rochester Enterprise today joined e-Dent, an oral health web-enabled network for dentistry in Israel, in announcing the firm’s merger with VDC Portal, an internet-based application service provider for dentistry in Rochester. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Crow Tests Positive For West Nile Virus

A dead crow found in the town of Brighton has tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV), according to Monroe County health officials. Monroe County is the 17th county in the state to detect WNV in birds this year. There has been one human WNV case in New York State this year. There have been no human cases in Monroe County this year.

Brooks Announces Blue Angels Return For 2004 Airshow

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks announced today that the 2004 ESL International Airshow will be held July 17th & 18th at the Greater Rochester International Airport (GRIA). The United States Navy’s famed precision flying team, the Blue Angels, will return as the major act at the upcoming airshow.
