Early Intervention - Parents
Parents of children with special needs may require information and support from a variety of resources. The Service Coordinator or providers assisting the family can help. Social work services can be provided as part of the IFSP. There are other agencies that offer specific supports. Some of them are:
- The Center for Disability Rights
- Starbridge
- Parent to Parent of NYS
- AutismUp
- Flower City Down Syndrome Network
- National Center for Infants, Toddlers and Families
Ask your Service Coordinator about these and other resources:
Family Caregiver Support Groups (EI funded)
Community Support (non EI funded)
- Incredible Years Parenting Program
- Parents As Teachers
- A.C.T. Resource Manual
- Community Resources for Twos and Up
