Recreation Leader

Description of Duties
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam:
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma plus, EITHER:
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree in Recreation or a closely related field (Physical Education, Music, Studio Arts, Drama, Education or similar disciplines will be considered as closely related fields); OR,
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree, plus one (1) year of paid full-time or its part‑time equivalent* experience in recreation or related activities; (Employment as a Program Director of Physical Education, music, studio art, etc., will be considered a related activity); OR,
(C) Two (2) years of paid-full time or its part‑time equivalent* experience in recreation or related activities; OR,
(D) Any equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) or (C) above.
Note: A Bachelor's degree in fields other than those listed in (A) will not be considered as acceptable substitutes for the required one (1) year of work experience.
