Description of Duties
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EITHER:
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Technology, or Electrical Engineering plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in traffic engineering; OR,
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in one of the fields mentioned in (A) above plus two (2) years experience as mentioned in (A) above; OR,
(C) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree in one of the fields mentioned in (A) above, plus four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent engineering experience, two (2) years of which must have involved traffic engineering; OR,
(D) Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
NOTE:
Traffic engineering experience shall include work in highway design, geometrics, transportation planning and traffic signal design and operations.
