DINOLFO CONGRATULATES COUNTY EMPLOYEES FOR SUCCESS IN WATER ENVIRONMENT FEDERATION’S OPERATIONS CHALLENGE

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that a team of Monroe County Employees from the Department of Environmental Services (DES) placed third at the New York Water Environment Association’s (NYWEA) Operations Challenge recently held which allows them to compete in the International Operations Challenge in October. The competition consists of five timed events capturing the wide variety of skills required by modern water quality professionals including: collection systems, laboratory, maintenance, process control and safety.

DINOLFO ANNOUNCES NAMING CONTEST FOR NEW SEA LION

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Seneca Park Zoo officials announced that the sea lion pup born to 8-year-old Lily on June 7th is doing very well and will be on exhibit regularly. Animal care staff has determined that the sea lion pup is male, and a naming contest will be held to give the pup a name.

Dinolfo Breaks Ground on Seneca Park Zoo Master Plan Improvements

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo joined Monroe County Parks, Seneca Park Zoo officials and Landmark Society Officials, as well as a locally-based construction team, to break ground on the first phase of the much anticipated Seneca Park Zoo Master Plan improvements. This phase includes an African savanna exhibit (featuring giraffes, zebras, rhinos and ostriches), a Cold Asia exhibit (featuring snow leopard and red panda) and a passenger tram with on-off stations at the south (front entrance plaza) and north (Africa) ends of the Zoo.

Dinolfo Announces Canopy Bid for ROC Renovation Project

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo was joined by Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn and airport revitalization project stakeholders, including local labor groups, to announce the canopy bid package for the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) revitalization project. The canopy bid package was publically released on July 14th with a requirement that any steel used in the canopy project be purchased from domestic manufacturers.

Dinolfo, O'Flynn, Delta Sonic To Host Summer Safety Events

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo, Monroe County Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn and representatives from Delta Sonic announced that the Monroe County Office of Traffic Safety and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office will partner with Delta Sonic to host summer traffic safety events throughout the community. These events include bike rodeos aimed at promoting bicycle safety and child safety seat checks, which offer inspections of child car seats.

Dinolfo Calls Upon Governor to Ask for 'Major Disaster' Declaration

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo sent a letter to Governor Andrew Cuomo formally requesting that the Governor ask President Trump for a Federal Declaration of a Major Disaster following the historic flooding damages along Lake Ontario.

Dinolfo Hosts Second Shared Services Meeting

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo convened the second meeting of the Shared Services Panel comprised of over 50 town, village, school district and municipal leaders in advance of the creation of a Shared Services Panel report as included in the 2017 New York State Budget.

Dinolfo Announces Summer Advanced Manufacturing Experience Kickoff

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced the start of the Summer Advanced Manufacturing Experience (SAME) Program at Monroe #1 BOCES and Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES. Monroe County, BOCES and Monroe Community College have sponsored the SAME Program at Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES in Spencerport for the past six years. This summer is the first time the Summer Advanced Manufacturing Experience (SAME) Program is being offered at Monroe #1 BOCES.

Dinolfo Announces Recruiting on the Road Job Fair in Henrietta

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced Monroe County is partnering with RochesterWorks! to bring the Recruiting on the Road job fair to the Henrietta Public Library on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. The partnership connects employers in the community with local job seekers.

Dinolfo Announces Mid-Year Results From Imagine Monroe

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced mid-year results of Imagine Monroe’s private investment and job creation efforts. Since the beginning of the year, Imagine Monroe has approved 20 projects that include $207 million in private investment in Monroe County.
