Dinolfo, Kress Expand Health Care Training Programs Available Through LadderzUP

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Monroe Community College (MCC) President Dr. Anne M. Kress announced the expansion of MCC’s health care training programs funded by LadderzUP. Through funding provided by Imagine Monroe, an additional 245 individuals will be trained and upskilled in the current academic year to fill high-demand health care positions.

ROC Airport to Receive Federal Grant for Regional Training Facility that Serves Aircraft Rescue Firefighters, First Responders

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo today announced the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) has been selected to receive a federal grant totaling $2.7 million to fund Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) vehicles and equipment at the regional training facility that serves firefighters and first responders at the Public Safety Training Facility (PSTF) on Scottsville Road.

Dinolfo: County Supports City's Request for Neighborhood Construction Tax Exemption

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced her support for Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren’s request to expand the Core Housing Owner Incentive Exemption (CHOICE) program, which would provide assistance to homeowners who build new, owner-occupied residential units across the City of Rochester. The City is seeking approval from Imagine Monroe and today presented a plan to the Imagine Monroe Board at the Board’s regularly-scheduled September meeting. The expansion will be voted on by the Imagine Monroe Board at a future meeting.

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that Imagine Monroe approved assistance for several local economic development projects. These projects are anticipated to create and retain over 1,500 full-time equivalent jobs in Monroe County.

New Finger Lakes Workforce Development Center Coming To MCC Downtown Campus

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo was joined by Monroe Community College (MCC) President Dr. Anne M. Kress and Madhuri Kommareddi, Director of Workforce Development for New York State, to announce the creation of a new Finger Lakes Workforce Development Center at Monroe Community College’s Downtown Campus. The Workforce Development Center will be a 50,000 square feet, state-of-the-art industrial training facility that will support an evolving list of accelerated training initiatives – including Monroe County’s LadderzUp program – which will address workforce shortages across a variety of industries.

Monroe County Executive Chery Dinolfo announced that Southwest Airlines has added new seasonal non-stop flights to Ft. Lauderdale (FLL), Florida on select Saturdays for January and February 2020 from the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC).

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced Monroe County will partner with Partners Against Violence Everywhere (PAVE) and Camp Good Days and Special Times to bring a Recruiting on the Road Project TIPS (Trust, Informative, Programs, Services) Job Fair to the City of Rochester on Thursday, August 22, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Roberto Clemente School No. 8. Recruiting on the Road will work with Project TIPS to connect hiring employers in the community with local job seekers and provide job training opportunities.

Dinolfo, Kress Congratulate Graduates Of Accelerated Precision Tooling Program

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Monroe Community College (MCC) President Dr. Anne M. Kress announced the completion of the ninth class of the MCC Accelerated Precision Tooling Certificate Program, funded in part by LadderzUP. A graduation ceremony was held today for the 14 participants at MCC’s Applied Technologies Center.

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and New York State Assemblymember Harry Bronson were joined by County Legislators and local stakeholders for a groundbreaking ceremony to commemorate the start of County construction on the new Frederick Douglass Memorial Plaza in Highland Park. Located on the corner of South Avenue and Robinson Drive, at the entrance of the Highland Park Bowl, the new plaza is destined to become a significant landmark as the site of the relocated Frederick Douglass Monument statue

Dinolfo: Support For Home Improvements Available Through County Program

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that new funding is available to income-eligible homeowners through the Monroe County Home Improvement Program. Grants and loans of up to $20,000 per homeowner will help cover the costs of improvements that meet the criteria.
