Residents can visit the Ecopark for free compost

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo encouraged residents to pick up free leaf compost at the Ecopark during its normal operating hours. Approximately 20,000 yards of leaves are collected from City residents and the Monroe County Parks system annually, and are available as compost free for County residents (no businesses or professional landscapers).

The mobile services will include a free document shredding event, in addition to several pharmaceutical and household hazardous waste collections scheduled throughout the year.

Dinolfo Announces Chili-Gates Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that the County’s Department of Environmental Services (DES) is hosting a joint Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection in conjunction with the Towns of Chili, Gates, Wheatland, Riga and the Villages of Scottsville and Churchville. The collection which is by appointment only is taking place at the Town of Gates Highway Garage located at 475 Trabold Road, on Saturday, April 21st, 2018 from 7:45 a.m. to 12:15 pm.

Monroe County Receives American Public Works Association's Project of the Year Award

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Monroe Community College (MCC) President Dr. Anne M. Kress announced that Monroe County has received the “Project of the Year Award” in the Large Structures Category for the construction of the MCC Downtown Campus from the New York State Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA). Airport Terminal Road Closure: Upper Level Departures Roadway

Beginning Friday, April 13, 2018, a temporary road closure will be in effect at the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) for ALL Upper Level Roadway Departures Traffic. The road closure will be posted and detour signs will direct all vehicles to drop off passengers flying out on the Lower Level Arrivals Roadway until the terminal canopy project is complete in October 2018. Passengers should expect lane reductions upon entering terminal property from Brooks Avenue.
