Dinolfo Unveils New Enhanced Communication Technologies at Airport

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo was joined by representatives from Hearing Loop Systems (HLS) and the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) to unveil new enhanced communications technologies now available at the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC). The technologies, which are components of Monroe County’s ongoing ROC Renovation Project, include “smart” color-coded LED lighting to promote visual cueing for all passengers in the gate area, in addition to terminal-wide hearing loops and counter loops installed at key locations to assist deaf or hard-of-hearing guests.

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo today announced Monroe County will partner with Partners Against Violence Everywhere (PAVE), Camp Good Days and Special Times, MCC and RochesterWorks! to bring a Recruiting on the Road “TIPS to Employment” Job Fair to the City’s
La Marketa neighborhood in Northeast Rochester on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Recruiting on the Road will work with Project TIPS (Trust, Information, Programs, Services) to connect hiring employers in the community with local job seekers and provide job training opportunities.

Dinolfo Announces Opening Date for Animals of the Savanna Expansion at Seneca Park Zoo

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo joined officials from the Seneca Park Zoo to announce that the new “Animals of the Savanna” expansion project will officially open to the public on Thursday, September 13, 2018. This is the second major project in Phase I of the Seneca Park Zoo Master Plan Expansion Project.

Dinolfo Announces Seasonal Non-stop Southwest Flights to Ft. Myers, Florida

Monroe County Executive Chery Dinolfo announced that Southwest Airlines for the second year in a row has expanded their destination offerings from the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) with the addition of seasonal, non-stop service on select Saturdays to Ft. Myers, Florida (RSW) for February 2019.

Dinolfo Cuts Ribbon On New And Improved Gusto Ristorante At Roc Airport

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo celebrated the official opening of the new and improved Gusto Ristorante at the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC). A popular, locally owned and operated eatery for nearly two decades, Gusto has now expanded into a larger, centrally-located space in the Airport’s dining area. Gusto’s relocation and expansion is a component of Monroe County’s ongoing ROC Renovation Project.

Dinolfo Announces Arrival Of Zuzu, An Elephant Barn Dog, At Seneca Park Zoo

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and officials from the Seneca Park Zoo announced the addition of Zuzu, a five-month-old female hound mix, who will live in the elephant barn and work with the elephants and their keepers. Zuzu was adopted from Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester.

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced Monroe County will bring a Recruiting on the Road Job Fair to the Town of Mendon/Honeoye Falls on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. This month’s Recruiting on the Road job fair features several local businesses looking to hire individuals in competitive fields, and will be held at the St. Catherine of Siena Monsignor Schnacky Community Center.

Dinolfo Celebrates First Woman To Complete “Monroe Manufactures Jobs” Mold-Making Program

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo joined President of ROMOLD, Inc., Lou Romano, and ROMOLD’s first female Mold-Making Apprentice, Niayah Blair, for a check presentation ceremony celebrating Niayah’s completion of the Monroe Manufactures Jobs Mold-Making Program. Niayah is the first woman to complete the Monroe Manufactures Jobs Mold-Making Program and likely the only female mold-making apprentice in New York State. Also present at the event was Matt O’Connor, Assistant Vice President for Economic and Workforce Development at Monroe Community College.

Dinolfo Announces Chili-Paul Wegmans Pharmaceutical Waste Collection

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that the County’s Department of Environmental Services (DES) is partnering with Wegmans and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office to hold a pharmaceutical waste collection on Saturday, August 4th from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Chili-Paul Wegmans, located at 3175 Chili Avenue.

Dinolfo Reminds Non-Profits Of Application Deadline For Flood-Related Disaster Loans

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo reminds Private Non-Profit (PNP) organizations of the August 14 deadline to submit Economic Injury Disaster Loan applications to the U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) for damages caused by flooding. PNP organizations within Western New York are currently eligible to recuperate costs incurred by flooding damages that occurred during the period of May 2, 2017 through August 6, 2017.
