Dinolfo Announces Chili-Gates Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that the County’s Department of Environmental Services (DES) is hosting a joint Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection in conjunction with the Towns of Chili, Gates, Wheatland, Riga and the Villages of Scottsville and Churchville. The collection which is by appointment only is taking place at the Town of Gates Highway Garage located at 475 Trabold Road, on Saturday, April 21st, 2018 from 7:45 a.m. to 12:15 pm.

Monroe County Receives American Public Works Association's Project of the Year Award

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Monroe Community College (MCC) President Dr. Anne M. Kress announced that Monroe County has received the “Project of the Year Award” in the Large Structures Category for the construction of the MCC Downtown Campus from the New York State Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA). The award reflects the project partners’ commitment to innovation and collaboration.

Airport Terminal Road Closure: Upper Level Departures Roadway

Beginning Friday, April 13, 2018, a temporary road closure will be in effect at the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) for ALL Upper Level Roadway Departures Traffic. The road closure will be posted and detour signs will direct all vehicles to drop off passengers flying out on the Lower Level Arrivals Roadway until the terminal canopy project is complete in October 2018. Passengers should expect lane reductions upon entering terminal property from Brooks Avenue.

Dinolfo, County OEM Host Multi-Agency Lake Level Preparedness Meeting

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo, in partnership with Monroe County Office of Emergency Management Director Tim Kohlmeier, hosted a multi-agency planning meeting to prepare a coordinated response to potential flooding along the Lake Ontario shoreline in 2018. Among the entities participating in the meeting were local town and village departments of public works, law enforcement entities, fire and rescue agencies, and the National Weather Service.

Monroe County Honors Local Vietnam Veterans for "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day"

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and local elected officials paid tribute to Vietnam Veterans during Monroe County’s annual “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day.” The ceremony featured members of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 20 of Rochester and was held to offer recognition and appreciation for all veterans who served during the Vietnam War.

Monroe County VSA Secured Record Level of Benefits for Local Veterans in 2017

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Monroe County Veterans Service Agency (VSA) Director Nick Stefanovic announced record-setting 2017 performance indicators for the VSA, including number of claims filed, total benefits received, and average benefits per claim. The County calls for veterans to come in for a free consultation.

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and local officials will pay tribute to Vietnam Veterans during Monroe County’s annual “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” on Thursday, March 29th. The local ceremony, which is also commemorated nationwide, will feature members of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 20 of Rochester and will offer recognition and appreciation for all veterans who served during the Vietnam War.

Dinolfo Reminds Residents of Upcoming Opportunities to Find Good-Paying New Careers

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo reminded local job-seekers of two upcoming opportunities to find good-paying new careers. Inspire Monroe, an innovative career exploration fair, will be held on Saturday, March 24th from 10AM to 2PM at the Downtown Hyatt. The next Recruiting on the Road job fair will be held on Wednesday, March 28th from 1PM to 3PM at the Fairport Library. Both events are free and open to the public.

Dinolfo Announces Job-Creating Projects Approved By Imagine Monroe

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that Imagine Monroe approved assistance for several local economic development projects. These projects are anticipated to create and retain a total of 178 full-time jobs in Monroe County.
