Monroe County VSA Secured Record Level of Benefits for Local Veterans in 2017

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Monroe County Veterans Service Agency (VSA) Director Nick Stefanovic announced record-setting 2017 performance indicators for the VSA, including number of claims filed, total benefits received, and average benefits per claim. The County calls for veterans to come in for a free consultation.

Dinolfo Invites Vietnam Veterans to Attend "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day" Ceremony

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and local officials will pay tribute to Vietnam Veterans during Monroe County’s annual “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” on Thursday, March 29th. The local ceremony, which is also commemorated nationwide, will feature members of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 20 of Rochester and will offer recognition and appreciation for all veterans who served during the Vietnam War.

Dinolfo Reminds Residents of Upcoming Opportunities to Find Good-Paying New Careers

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo reminded local job-seekers of two upcoming opportunities to find good-paying new careers. Inspire Monroe, an innovative career exploration fair, will be held on Saturday, March 24th from 10AM to 2PM at the Downtown Hyatt. The next Recruiting on the Road job fair will be held on Wednesday, March 28th from 1PM to 3PM at the Fairport Library. Both events are free and open to the public.

Dinolfo Announces Job-Creating Projects Approved By Imagine Monroe

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that Imagine Monroe approved assistance for several local economic development projects. These projects are anticipated to create and retain a total of 178 full-time jobs in Monroe County.

Dinolfo Announces Arrival of Female Snow Leopard at Seneca Park Zoo

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Seneca Park Zoo officials are excited to announce the arrival of a female snow leopard in anticipation of the new snow leopard habitat opening in May. A one-year-old named Timila, the snow leopard comes to Seneca Park Zoo from Metro Richmond Zoo in Virginia where she was born in May of 2016.

Dinolfo Announces Home Depot to Participate in Next Recruiting on the Road Job Fair

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced Home Depot will participate in Monroe County’s upcoming Recruiting on the Road job fair. It will take place on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m at the Fairport Public Library. Recruiting on the Road connects hiring employers in the community with local job seekers.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Dinolfo, Silver Celebrate Signing of Frontier Field Lease

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Rochester Red Wings President/CEO/COO Naomi Silver commemorated the signing of a new long-term lease between Monroe County and Rochester Community Baseball, Inc. for the use of Frontier Field. Announced on February 12, 2018 and unanimously approved by the County Legislature the next evening, the lease authorization has since been filed with the New York Secretary of State, officially completing the necessary approval process.

Dinolfo, Kress to Host "Inspire Monroe", a New Targeted Career Exploration Fair

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Monroe Community College (MCC) President Dr. Anne M. Kress announced Monroe County and MCC will be co-hosting Inspire Monroe, a new interactive career exploration fair available to high school students and unemployed or underemployed adults. The event is targeted to showcase career options in three in-demand industries, advanced manufacturing, health care, and information technology, and will be held on Saturday, March 24th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. Inspire Monroe is a free and open to the public event.

Dinolfo: County to Receive Lake Ontario Shoreline Restoration Funds

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that Monroe County will receive $1.5 million in grant funding from the New York State Office of Community Renewal, through its 2017 Imminent Threat Program, which will be allocated to support several County infrastructure restoration and mitigation projects along the shore of Lake Ontario.
