Dinolfo Announces Monroe County Forensic Pathology Fellowship Program

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo was joined by officials from the Monroe County Office of the Medical Examiner and University of Rochester officials to announce a Fellowship Program that will allow University of Rochester doctoral residents the opportunity to conduct their Fellowship at the Monroe County Office of the Medical Examiner. This new Fellowship Program addresses the critical need for forensic pathologists, which is a need shared by Medical Examiner offices around the country amid a nationwide shortage.

Dinolfo Announces Renewed Recycling Effort For Propane Tank Disposal

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced a renewed effort to encourage residents to dispose of propane tanks properly. This effort is a joint partnership between Monroe County and Waste Management. While large propane tanks can be refilled and reused, smaller propane tanks are often placed at the curb for pick-up with gas still inside which then becomes an environmental and safety concern.

Following Dinolfo’s successful efforts to rally public support in favor of ridesharing, the New York State Legislature and Governor Andrew Cuomo authorized legislation to bring ridesharing to Upstate New York.

Dinolfo Confirms Meetings with Members of Congress, FEMA and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo will meet with members of New York’s Congressional delegation in Washington D.C. including Congressman Chris Collins (NY-27), Congressman John Katko (NY-24) and Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22). She will be joined by Lake Ontario shoreline municipal leaders for a meeting with representatives of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. In this meeting, Dinolfo will pursue federal funding and action to reimburse residents and businesses impacted by the high water levels in Lake Ontario. She will also advocate for closer monitoring and active management of lake levels to prevent historic high waters in the future and for the creation of physical barriers to mitigate the effects of high water and wave action.
