Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo congratulated two dozen high school students that participated in the annual Summer Advanced Manufacturing Experience. The program provides an opportunity for high school students to get hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing careers, and is an important workforce development pipeline sponsored by the County and other local partners.

Dinolfo Presents Mid-year Results For Imagine Monroe: 600+ Jobs Created, 900+ Retained

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced mid-year results of Imagine Monroe’s economic development efforts. For the first six months of 2019, Imagine Monroe has approved 24 projects that will result in the creation of 608 jobs and retention of 986 jobs in Monroe County. These projects will generate a total of $239 million in private investment.

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced Monroe County will partner with Partners Against Violence Everywhere (PAVE) and Camp Good Days and Special Times to bring a Recruiting on the Road Project TIPS (Trust, Informative, Programs, Services) Job Fair to the City of Rochester on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Recruiting on the Road will work with Project TIPS to connect hiring employers in the community with local job seekers and provide job training opportunities.

Dinolfo Invites Female Business Leaders To Join County's Second Women Business Accelerator

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo, in partnership with The Entrepreneurs Network (TEN), today announced the launch of a second Women Business Accelerator in Monroe County. Designed exclusively for management-level women in women owned or led businesses that are scaling for growth, the Accelerator is an initiative of TEN, one of the premier entrepreneurial programs in Upstate New York. Statistics show that women are half as likely as men to start a business and remain under-represented among entrepreneurs across the state and nation.

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced a second Recruiting on the Road Senior Job Fair at the Town of Henrietta Senior Center on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This special event features over 100 available positions. The County’s Workforce Development Division has partnered with the Monroe County Office for the Aging and other community partners to provide employment opportunities for our community’s local senior citizen population.

Dinolfo Announces Special Recruiting On The Road Job Fair And Hiring Event With Maximus

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced Monroe County will partner with Maximus for a special Recruiting on the Road Job Fair and Hiring Event on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. This special event features over 300 available positions through Maximus with competitive rates of pay, including benefits, quarterly bonuses and advancement opportunities. Representatives will be on-hand to screen, interview and give job offers to candidates for select positions.

Legislature Authorizes Dinolfo To Sue State To Stop Drivers Licenses For Illegal Immigrants

The Monroe County Legislature passed legislation authorizing County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo to bring a lawsuit against the State of New York to challenge the new “Green Light Law”, which allows drivers’ licenses to be issued to illegal immigrants. Specifically, the County’s pending suit will assert, among other claims, that the new State law violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution by putting citizens and non-citizens on unequal footing under the law.

Dinolfo To Make Quality Childcare More Affordable For Working Families

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that Monroe County will soon be making quality childcare more affordable for 2,200 low-income families. Dinolfo has directed the Monroe County Department of Human Services to cut the “Parent Fee” component of the County’s subsidized childcare programming from the current rate of 35% of the cost of care to a new, lower rate of 25%.
