Located on the corner of South Avenue and Robinson Drive, at the entrance of the Highland Park Bowl, the new plaza is destined to become a significant landmark as the site of the relocated Frederick Douglass Monument statue

Dinolfo: Support For Home Improvements Available Through County Program

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that new funding is available to income-eligible homeowners through the Monroe County Home Improvement Program. Grants and loans of up to $20,000 per homeowner will help cover the costs of improvements that meet the criteria.

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo invited local families to apply for the County’s affordable childcare programming. Monroe County’s federal-state grant allocation for affordable childcare is increasing by $3.1 million for 2019-20, providing new opportunities for families to benefit from programs that can offset the cost of care for income-eligible households. The announcement follows Dinolfo’s previous action to lower the affordable childcare “Parent Fee” in Monroe County, which will save the average low-income family nearly $800 annually on the cost of care.

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced Monroe County will partner with LiDestri Food and Drink and RochesterWorks! for a two day Recruiting on the Road Job Fair and Hiring Event on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. This special event features over three dozen available positons available through LiDestri. Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo introduced a Local Law to the Monroe County Legislature to regulate the safety and security of grease trap covers in Monroe County. Prior to the introduction of the new legislation, no clear standard existed in New York State for the ongoing inspection and enforcement of grease trap manhole covers.

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced mid-year results of Imagine Monroe’s economic development efforts. For the first six months of 2019, Imagine Monroe has approved 24 projects that will result in the creation of 608 jobs and retention of 986 jobs in Monroe County. These projects will generate a total of $239 million in private investment.

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced Monroe County will partner with Partners Against Violence Everywhere (PAVE) and Camp Good Days and Special Times to bring a Recruiting on the Road Project TIPS (Trust, Informative, Programs, Services) Job Fair to the City of Rochester on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Recruiting on the Road will work with Project TIPS to connect hiring employers in the community with local job seekers and provide job training opportunities.
